Putting my Christmas post early. To busy to wait. Merry Christmas to all.
Today In History Dec. 25
0 - Happy Birthday! Jesus of Nazareth is born, this single incident has caused more controversy that any other is history, and he looks like such a nice boy.

1818 - The first performance of "Silent Night" takes place in the Church of St. Nikolaus in Oberndorf, Austria. Unfortunately it was sung in Austrian, so no one understood what the hell they were saying.

1837 - Battle of Okeechobee: United States forces defeat Seminole Indians, who still remember the true sprit of Christmas.

1899 - Happy Birthday Humphrey Bogart, American actor (d. 1957) “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walked into mine.” That from the man that made smoking "cool".

1907 - Happy Birthday Cab Calloway, American bandleader (d. 1994) Most famous lyric, “Hidey, Hidey, Hidey Hi, Hodey, hodey, hodey ho.” Sheer poetry and possibly the first person to sing a hit about a ho.

1939 - Happy birthday Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is introduced by Montgomery Ward stores. So he is 67 years old. Does anyone out there not remember him? It’s a wonder he didn’t go Columbine on the North Pole!

1946 - R.I.P W. C. Fields, American comedian (b.1880) "Philadelphia, wonderful town, spent a week there one night"
1947 - The Constitution of the Republic of China goes into effect. Introducing the world to the shortest Constitutional document ever. It reads “You’re F*CKED!” George W. Bush has used this document as the basis of his policy in Iraq.

"Look Chinese People. (Acually tibetens but, most Americans won't know that.)
1950 -Happy Birthday! Karl Rove, American presidential advisor. How is that for irony? The devils minion born on Christmas.
